Feasibility Support Project

The "Tradesmen Academy Vocational Training Center Capacity Development Feasibility Support Project", which we prepared within the scope of the 2019 Feasibility Support Program of the Silk Road Development Agency (IKA), has passed the evaluation and has been included in the scope of support. We started the project activities with the signing ceremony held on 12.06.2019.

Project; Within the framework of the Tenth Development Plan, in order to accelerate the development process by activating our country's potential, regional dynamics and the talents of our people, to gradually raise Turkey's position in the international division of labor and value chain hierarchy in the reshaped world economy, to support the country in reaching its 2023 targets, Regional Development National Strategy It has been prepared in line with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of Gaziantep province, triggering regional development, making maximum contribution to national development by utilizing regional potentials, pioneering the access of tradesmen and craftsmen to technology and supporting permanent employment by creating a qualified workforce.

With this approach, within the scope of the project, by increasing the physical infrastructure and technological capacity of the Vocational Training Center, which carries out its activities within the Union of Gaziantep Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, in order to increase the professional and technical capacities of tradesmen and craftsmen, who are located in the TRC1 Region and constitute 8% of the total population in Gaziantep province, together with their employees. The Academy aims to continue its activities as a Vocational Training Center. With the project activities, a Material Analysis (Spectral Analysis) Laboratory within the vocational training center, an Industrial Design and Production Laboratory to support reverse engineering activities will be established and the daily service capacity will be increased to 400 people/day by increasing the number of classrooms from 4 to 10. The aim of this center is to enable the prominent sectors and clusters in the region to be effective, to develop the innovation and entrepreneurship capacity of tradesmen and craftsmen, to support the technological developments of tradesmen and craftsmen, and to contribute to increasing the productivity and employment level of the region. Feasibility studies will be carried out in this context and the basic structure of the Craftsmen Academy Vocational Training Center will be shaped by evaluating the effects of cost and output analyses, regional gains and multiplier effects.

 

With its support within the scope of the Attraction Center Support Program, which is the second leg of our project, the Tradesmen Academy Vocational Training Center is the first and only project implemented by tradesmen and craftsmen across the country.
